Hey y’all! I just thought I would throw together a little life update for everyone since it’s been a minute since I’ve blogged! A LOT has happened in the last few months. For starters, Michael and I moved to Portland, Oregon. That’s right folks, we packed up and moved from Texas. And you know what? It’s  been the experience of a lifetime. Both of us have been wanting to move to the Pacific Northwest for so long now and we both just ran with it — and full speed ahead I might add!

We took a four day road trip up with a 15 ft Uhaul and an itty bitty car towed right behind. We experienced so much together in those four days. Life experiences we will never forget. Everything from the financial aspect of moving across the country to packing and downsizing. Funny story, we actually reserved a super tiny Uhaul and last second they “upgraded” us and we were stuck with a giant truck and didn’t even fill it half way. It goes to show you that no matter how far in advance you plan or how much you organize, truly anything can happen. Don’t let it freak you out though, it all works out in the end 🙂

Life has been so, so good here. Oregon is a true beaut. It’s such an outdoorsy atmosphere and I love it. It’s actually so refreshing to see, honestly. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Texas and it’s incredibly warm weather but it just doesn’t compare to this amazing place. If you have ever dreamed in your life to move somewhere, do it. I couldn’t encourage it enough. Whether it be NYC, the PNW or even Texas itself just immerse yourself into the new lifestyle and take it for everything you can. It’s worth it.

I started a new career here and so has Michael. It’s also refreshing doing something you love again. I’m finally back in a place where I love getting up and going into work in the morning. Not to mention, have time to update my little space on the internet! Our apartment needs some work but some parts are coming together nicely! We downsized considerably before coming and ended up getting a slightly larger place than we had prior. Needless to say, we need some furniture!

Finally, my last life update. And it’s a big one. I have finally mastered how to curl my hair — AND make it last for days! It may have taken me my entire grown up existence but its finally happened and I am so happy.
